As a student in our human services courses, you’ll enjoy a combination of classwork, volunteer community field experience, and guest presentations from human services workers so that you can have an up-close view into this diverse and rewarding field. With your human services certificate and all of this exposure, you can be sure that you’ll be able to find the career that is right for you. This human services program gives you excellent preparation – and extra consideration – if you are planning on entering any of Fanshawe’s Human Services career programs like Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, or Recreation and Leisure Services, among others. If you plan on moving on to university, a 3.0 or better GPA in this program will put you in great position for acceptance. Help others. Make a difference. The Human Services Foundation program provides a broad education in understanding human behaviour and serves as a foundation for preparing a student to enter specific people helping with career programs. Basic academic coursework relevant to human services and volunteer experience in a human services setting combine to provide a comprehensive introduction to the field of helping.
