First-year students apply to the Finance and Wealth Management program via OUAC, within the Social Science program at King’s (OUAC code EKO) and must meet the admission requirements:Achieve a minimum overall high school average of 80% (calculated on the top 6U/M grade 12 courses, including pre-requisites);
Complete MCV4U or equivalent with a minimum final grade of 60%;
Admission to this financial management program is competitive, and possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission. Once accepted into the program, students will alternate between the two institutions:Year 1 - King’s
Year 2 - Fanshawe
Year 3 - King’s
Year 4 - Fanshawe, first semester/King’s, second semester
Qualified graduates will have completed all of the educational requirements leading to the QAFP™, Qualified Associate Financial Planner™, CFP®, Certified Financial Planner® and PFP®, Personal Financial Planner® designations. In addition, students are prepared to write the exams for Investment Funds In Canada; Canadian Securities Course® and Life Licensing Qualification Program which will further enhance their career opportunities. Available in a traditional, full-time in-class format with a September admission. Program Course Requirements at King's and Fanshawe
Students complete their course work at alternating campuses until the fourth year when they complete one semester at King’s and one semester at Fanshawe.
Students in the Finance and Wealth Management program may apply to participate in co-op opportunities available through Fanshawe College. This participation would extend the length of program outlined in the agreement should they opt for the additional two work terms required to complete a co-op program. Participation in the co-op program is not guaranteed.
This program indicates completion of the educational component of FPSC’s CFP® certification program. To be authorized to use the CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® marks, individuals must complete additional examination, experience and ethics requirements.
